Jornalismo de Saúde - Evidências de um processo de especialização
Abstract
Diferenciado, sobretudo, por uma forte componente científica, o jornalismo dos assuntos de saúde deixou de pertencer à esfera generalista para se autonomizar enquanto território especializado. Todavia, o processo é recente; investigadores, clínicos, decisores políticos, as próprias redacções, ainda não se mostram perfeitamente familiarizados com o espectro de competências do jornalista de saúde. Importa, como tal, conhecer os objecti - vos e as limitações desta corrente jornalística, tanto quanto o seu esforço de descodificação do avanço científico se tornou essencial para a democratização do conhecimento sobre os mecanismos de saúde e de doença.
