Spirituality and Social Sciences: a look of Social Work
Abstract
The reflection around the Social Sciences and the construction of this theme has long time. In an isolated analysis, without reducing the social to the individual, we find that if Social Sciences are at the service of the human condition, the same happens with Social Work. Sedas Nunes states that the reality studied by them is one: the human condition (Nunes 1987). In this sense, human activities are conditioned by the fact that men live together (Arendt, 2009), in a process of interaction and interdependence where historical, social, anthropological, psychological, physical, and spiritual aspects can congregate or alienate individuals. The Social Work learn of different knowledge of the Social Sciences and its action is with and in the holistic subject. In this sense, what can be the contribution of Social Work in the Social Sciences, starting from a model of holistic intervention, where we serve the whole person, including spirituality?
