Vida monástica e práticas da escrita entre as mulheres em Portugal no Antigo Regime

This study examines the life of the females in Portuguese convents, utilizing the writings by and about the religious women of the XVII and XVIII centuries. The themes selected refer to the profiles of women in the contents, the mystical and ascetic traits, the mechanisms of acquiring authority and autonomy in the male-dominated Portuguese catholicism.
