The third issue of the International Journal of Magazine Studies (IJMS) was organized by Professors Carla Rodrigues Cardoso, Ana Figueiras and Ilo Alexandre. In this issue we are honored to feature a guest essay by Rebecca Johinke from the University of Sydney, Australia, a leading researcher in the field of magazine studies. Following a rigorous double-blind peer review process, four outstanding articles were selected for publication, reflecting both academic excellence and critical insight. Taken together, the contributions to this issue embody the breadth, diversity, and vitality of contemporary magazine studies. They examine audiences, health communication, emotional journalism, and visual metaphors, demonstrating that magazines continue to offer a unique lens for understanding society.
