Code of Ethics and Good Practices

Temas Sociais Journal is committed to the ethical principles of scientific research and academic publishing, promoting integrity, transparency, and equality of opportunities in access to knowledge. To this end, the journal adopts the following Code of Ethics and Good Practices:

  1. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and of exclusive authorship, and must not have been previously published, disseminated, or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  2. Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for the publication of their work and for providing proper acknowledgment of all sources consulted.
  3. Research funded by external entities must ensure that the appropriate authorization for the dissemination of results has been obtained, when applicable.
  4. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection, using the tool in force at the Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa.
  5. All articles undergo external peer review by experts in the relevant field, under a double-blind peer review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the evaluation process.
  6. Research involving human participants must ensure informed consent, strict respect for data confidentiality, and, where applicable, approval by an Ethics Committee.
  7. Authorship must accurately reflect the individuals who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the conception, design, execution of the research, analysis of results, drafting of the manuscript, and approval of the final version.
