Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Submissions

    The Journal of Sociomuseology has no article processing charges and has no article submission fees.
    Please follow this simple 6-step submission process to add an article. If you are not familiar with the OJS or experience any difficulties, please preview this tutorial video or contact our support team.
    As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with respect to all items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the standards will be returned to authors.
  • 1- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • 2- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format
  • 3- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • 4- The text has 1.5 line spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • 5- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal
  • 6- The identification of authorship of the work was removed from the file and from the Properties options in Word, thus ensuring the confidentiality of the revised criteria.

Author Guidelines

  1. The articles must be original, written preferably in Portuguese, Galician, English, Spanish and French or according to the indications of the editors.
  2. Articles  must be submitted online, after registration on the website Journal of Sociomuseology at the following address: http://revistas.ulusofona.pt/index.php/cadernosociomuseologia
  3. The submission will be made anonymously, that is, the article should have no reference either to the authors or the institution to which they belong. Personal data will be entered on a separate page; Articles submitted by email should have the identification, personal data, email and affiliation on a separate page. cadernos.sociomuseologia@ulusofona.pt
  4. Formatting: Font size: Times New Roman, 12; 1.5 Space justified in both margins of not less than 3 cm. Citations from 4 lines should be single spaced, retreat to the left and right of 4 cm and source 11. The notes should be at the end of the text (Times New Roman, 10, single-spaced). Articles must have a minimum of 25,000 and maximum of 45,000 characters (with spaces) including graphs, tables, images, text endnotes and references.
  5. Articles must be accompanied at the beginning of a summary in Portuguese and another in English (1200-1500 characters with spaces) and 3-5 keywords separated by semicolons. The summary should explain the overall theme, the problems, the objectives, methodology and key findings.
  6. All the authors who submit their articles for publication in Journal of Sociomuseology are committed not to refer them to other magazines unless the articles are not published within one year. And at the same time give to the Journal of Sociomuseology (CSM) indexing rights on international networks.
  7. The content of the texts and the opinions expressed therein, such as reference pictures or graphics that have been published are the sole responsibility of the authors.
  8. If the research was publicly or privately funded, it should be mentioned in the conflict-of-interest statement.
  9. If the article is not published within one year, the author may submit it to other publications with prior information to the direction of the Journal of Sociomuseology (CSM).
  10. The standards of bibliographic reference followed by the Journal of Sociomuseology (CSM) are the updated APA (American Psychological Association) standards. Citations should be inserted in the text, according to the same standards. Notes, when there shall arise at the end of the text, before the references. Should not exceed more than 25 references.
