This issue of the International Journal of Film and Media Arts is edited in partnership with CILECT - The International Association of Film and Media Schools invites educators, researchers, filmmakers, and artists, particularly those coming from CILECT member schools and participating in the CILECT Congress 2025, to submit papers that deal with (but are not limited to) the topics of:

  • Ethics and responsibility in film education.
  • Education of students to take the social impact of cinema into account in their projects.
  • Educational approaches that influence motivation, critical thinking and creative development.
  • Curricular re-design for diverse and inclusive narratives.
  • Cultural and social diversity integration into teaching.
  • The role of critical thinking in shaping innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Processes and representations of “otherness” in cinema.
  • Globalization vs localization in cinematic representations.
  • Role of schools and education in fostering inclusiveness.
  • Cinema creative processes and activism.

Keywords: Critical thinking; world views; inclusiveness; ethics in film education

Provide two Word documents (.doc) with:

  1. Full Paper (Abstract, Keywords, Article and References at 5000-8000 words total. See journal guidelines for formatting).

The manuscript should not have any reference to the authors or the institution they belong to. The authors must ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in such a way that they do not reveal their identities to reviewers, either directly or indirectly.

  1. BIO, no longer than 70 words. Name, Email address and institutional affiliation.

When submitting full papers, authors must include a comment indicating the specific open call they are responding to. Please note that submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.

Publication date: 1 March 2026

Submissions must be made anonymously. All submissions will undergo a blind peer review process and will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.
