This special issue of the International Journal of Film and Media Arts edited in partnership with CILECT - The International Association of Film and Media Schools, invites educators, researchers, filmmakers, and artists, particularly the ones coming from CILECT member schools and participating in the CILECT Congress 2026 to submit papers that deal with (but are not limited to) the topics of:
- The reimagining of the traditional Master to Mentor in creative arts education.
- Post-pandemic pedagogy: hybrid learning, co-creation, student agency
- Ethical teaching: AI, authorship, and creative responsibility
- Resilience and care: student and staff wellbeing and institutional culture
- The “masters” we serve: who defines excellence in contemporary film education?
- Professional pathways and life-long learning: connecting the academy and industry
Keywords: Pedagogical practices; artistic education; Ai and pedagogy; educational models.
Stage 1:
Provide two MS Word documents (.doc) with:
1. Abstract: under 300 words and under 1000 characters in standard formatting (the abstract must also be inserted in the abstract text field during submission).
2. BIO, no longer than 70 words. Name, Email address and institutional affiliation.
Stage 2:
Provide two MS Word documents (.doc) with:
1. Full Paper (Abstract, Keywords, Article and References at 5000-8000 words total. See journal guidelines for formatting).
The manuscript should not have any reference to the authors or the institution they belong to. The authors must ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in such a way that they do not reveal their identities to reviewers, either directly or indirectly.
2. BIO, no longer than 70 words. Name, Email address and institutional affiliation.

When submitting full papers, authors must include a comment indicating the specific CILECT special issue open call they are responding to. Please note that submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
Abstracts Submission: 1 June 2026
Notification acceptance abstracts: 1 July 2026
Submission of full papers: 1 August 2026
Feedback on full papers: 15 September 2026
Final revisions and submission: 25 September 2026
Publication date: 5 October 2026
Submissions must be made anonymously. All submissions will undergo a blind peer review process and will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.
No fees are requested for submission or processing.
