New issue of the journal now available

Issue no. 9 of the journal Temas Sociais has now been published.

No. 9 (2025): Temas Sociais

É com enorme satisfação que apresentamos o número 9 da Revista Temas Sociais, publicação da Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa e do Centro de Investigação LusoGlobe. Fiel à sua missão de constituir um espaço de debate e disseminação de conhecimento nos domínios da intervenção social e do Serviço Social, esta edição reúne artigos que evidenciam a pluralidade de temas e desafios que marcam a contemporaneidade.

Este número confirma o compromisso da revista com a valorização de contributos que aliam rigor académico e relevância social, promovendo perspetivas críticas e reflexivas que alimentam o avanço teórico, o desenho de políticas públicas e a qualificação das práticas profissionais.

A edição esteve a cargo de Jacqueline Marques e Hélia Bracons, com o apoio de Ana Paula Garcia (secretária). O Conselho Editorial é composto por investigadoras e investigadores de instituições de ensino superior e centros de investigação de referência, nacionais e internacionais.

Temas Sociais is a scientific journal of Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa, published in collaboration with the LusoGlobe Research Centre. It constitutes an academic forum for the publication, dissemination, and debate of ideas and research findings in the field of the social and human sciences, with particular emphasis on social intervention, social policy, and especially social work.

It is an interdisciplinary journal, open to contributions from different areas of the social and human sciences, namely: social work, social policy, social intervention, psychology, sociology, pedagogy, philosophy, and critical studies, among others. The journal aims to contribute to the production and circulation of scientific knowledge, promoting theoretical, methodological, and empirical dialogue among researchers, lecturers, professionals, and students.

Temas Sociais publishes original scientific articles of a theoretical and empirical nature, as well as essays, interviews of academic or scientific relevance, and critical reviews of works relevant to the fields under analysis. Articles may be submitted in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French, welcoming contributions from national and international authors, with the aim of reaching a broad academic audience at an international level.

Founded in 2021, the journal is published on a biannual basis, releasing two issues per year. It has an editorial team mostly composed of scholars from the field of social work, as well as an editorial and scientific board made up of specialists from different countries and areas of the social and human sciences, reinforcing its interdisciplinary and international vocation.

The editorial policy of Temas Sociais is guided by principles of transparency, scientific rigor, theoretical pluralism, and respect for research ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo a peer-review process conducted by external reviewers under a double-blind system, ensuring high academic quality standards. Submissions must comply with the journal’s editorial policies, particularly regarding ethics, privacy, copyright, and submission conditions, with authors being fully responsible for the content of their work.

Temas Sociais is an open-access journal, providing free, immediate, and unrestricted access to its contents, with the aim of fostering the circulation of scientific knowledge and academic exchange at national and international levels. The journal assigns persistent digital identifiers (DOI – Digital Object Identifier) to published articles, ensuring their permanent identification, citation, and traceability.

The journal is edited and owned by Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa | LusoGlobe Research Centre.
