INVITATION TO SUBMIT ARTICLES
De Legibus invites all interested parties to submit articles for publication in De Legibus - Revista de Direito.
Any author, either connected or not to the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusófona, may submit articles for publication in De Legibus.
The submitted articles must be necessarily unpublished, in matters of law or that also include matters of law, written in Portuguese, from Portugal or Brazil, Spanish, French or English. Articles with a maximum of three authors will be accepted. There will not be several articles by the same author (even if co-authored) in the same issue of the Journal.
Each article should not exceed 20,000 words.
De Legibus is published in two issues per year, but articles will be received at any time of the year.
The articles will be approved for publication after being subject to double peer review in anonymity, obtaining two favourable opinions for their publication and introducing any corrections suggested in the opinions.
Articles must be submitted by registering and uploading them to the Journal's website: https://revistas.ulusofona.pt/index.php/delegibus/about/submissions
Once an article has been received, the Editors will make a prior assessment of the appropriateness of the article's theme to the Journal's editorial line and of its conformity with the Journal's Style Guide (attached). The article will then be sent, in anonymity, to external reviewers/evaluators for their review. Once the article is approved, the authors will receive a notification and will have a maximum of 15 days to return it with the necessary changes.
The revision of the text, in the written languages, is the sole responsibility of the authors and no automatic translation is allowed. The Journal reserves the right to introduce stylistic, orthographic and grammatical changes in the article approved for publication, while respecting the author's style.
If the production of the article has received some kind of financing, the authors should indicate it in a footnote on the first page.
With the approval of two reviewers and the changes required by the reviewers, the article will be publishable in the next issue of De Legibus that is not closed.
In June and November of each year, the Editors of De Legibus will close one issue of De Legibus, followed by its publication in July and December, respectively.
The Editors maintain autonomy to publish articles by invited authors.
No copyright or remuneration will be due for the publication of papers in the Journal.
