Peer review
Temas Sociais Journal adopts a double-blind peer review process, ensuring high standards of academic quality, scientific rigor, and editorial impartiality.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team, with the aim of assessing their relevance to the journal’s scope and objectives, as well as compliance with editorial guidelines and ethical standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage are subsequently sent to external and independent reviewers, who are experts in the manuscript’s subject area, without knowledge of the authors’ identities, and vice versa.
The reviewers’ reports focus on criteria such as originality, scientific relevance, theoretical consistency, methodological adequacy, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of the social and human sciences. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the following editorial decisions may be issued:
-
Acceptance without revisions;
-
Acceptance subject to revisions;
-
Submission of a revised version for further evaluation;
-
Rejection.
When necessary, revised manuscripts may be resubmitted for further review. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, ensuring compliance with the principles of transparency, confidentiality, independence, and scientific integrity.
