A Triangulação Sustentada de Dados como Condição Fundamental para a Investigação Qualitativa
Abstract
No âmbito de um projeto de investigação financiado pela Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia (PTDC/CPE-CED/114318/2009) cujo objetivo principal foi descrever, analisar e interpretar práticas de ensino e de avaliação desenvolvidas por professores em diferentes cursos de universidades portuguesas e brasileiras, desenvolveu-se todo um trabalho investigativo com o intuito de compreender as relações entre tais práticas, as aprendizagens dos alunos e o seu sucesso académico. Para tal, a partir de um estudo da literatura relevante sobre a temática, foi definida uma matriz de investigação que integrasse os objetos e respetivas dimensões que se pretendia ter em consideração na análise. Com base nesta matriz estruturaram-se todos os instrumentos de recolha de dados, levou-se a cabo a respetiva análise dos dados conseguidos, procurando elaborar sínteses avaliativas parciais, de acordo com os objetos e dimensões definidos, para dar origem a uma síntese avaliativa global. Este procedimento permitiu uma triangulação articulada e sustentada dos dados, dando origem a uma forte coerência entre o problema e as questões de investigação, os respetivos níveis de análise e interpretação e, consequentemente, as conclusões. Esta coerência interna em muito contribui para a validade da investigação, constituindo um critério de excelência para a qualidade da investigação desenvolvida e produzida.
