Abstract
Nota Introdutória ao Dossier Temático do número 26 da revista Lusófona de Educação, sobre as Artes visuais e sua importância no âmbito dos currículos. Os autores afirmam:
A reflexão sobre o ensino das Artes Visuais (fundamentos pedagógico-didá- ticos, currículos, estratégias e práticas pedagógicas) revela-se imprescindível face às mudanças e incertezas que em termos sociais, culturais e económicos caraterizam as sociedades contemporâneas. Essa reflexão, promovida através da investigação e de abordagens críticas que se possam partilhar, é um instru- mento fundamental para a vitalidade da área no âmbito das Ciências Sociais, no sentido de corresponder aos desafios que surgem, à escala global na for- mação de cidadãos. As novas exigências na formação de professores em Artes Visuais, um pouco por todo o mundo e recentemente em Portugal, abriram um debate alargado na área e contribuíram para o avanço da investigação e para a produção científica num campo relativamente marginal do sistema educativo português. Assim, este Dossier temático da Revista Lusófona de Educação visa contribuir para a discussão e disseminação de novos conhecimentos e experiên- cias, na tentativa de participar de uma comunidade ativa de reflexão, de crítica e inovação.
